In the opening of Seven, we are introduced to Detective Somerset (Morgan Freeman). He seems to be a sophisticated and intellectual person from the way he is dressed in a simple, plain suit. We are first introduced to him whilst he is dressing, and we see that he is a perfectionist as everything is in its "place". He comes accross as the silent type, as he does not say a word while dressing, and only speaks when spoken to at the opening crime scene. Somerset's house is very dull and ordinary, the same with his clothing. His house and clothes are only white, beige or browny colours.Next, we are introduced to Detective Mills, (Brad Pitt). He sounds witty and cocky and quirky, suggesting he's a jolly but smart, person. He's wearing casual smart clothes, telling us maybe he don't take his job seriously. He's wearing navy blue trousers and a shirt, with a navy blue sports jacket, showing that he is young and hip, but serious when he needs to be. As he comes into the crime scene he starts speaking straight away, whilst chewing gum like a little school boy, showing us that he is confident and immature.
